Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: April 17, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy (the “AUP”) sets out the rules for using AlphaSmith, Inc. [legal entity TBD] products and APIs (collectively, the “Services”). It is incorporated into our Terms of Service. Effective date: April 17, 2026.
Prohibited conduct
You agree not to, and not to permit others to:
- Use the Services in violation of applicable law, including securities, privacy, and export-control laws.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, system, or network; probe for vulnerabilities without written permission; or interfere with the operation of the Services.
- Scrape, crawl, or bulk-download data from the Services or from market-data vendors through the Services, except via the public API in accordance with its Terms of Use.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code, models, or trade secrets of the Services.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the Services or their output without our written consent.
- Use the Services to develop a competing product or service.
- Run trading bots against the Services outside the sanctioned API channels, or otherwise circumvent rate limits.
- Upload content that is unlawful, harmful, defamatory, obscene, harassing, or that infringes the rights of others.
- Impersonate another person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation.
- Introduce malware, ransomware, or any code designed to disrupt, destroy, or limit functionality.
- Use the Services to facilitate market manipulation, insider trading, or any abusive trading practice.
Rate limits and fair use
API and product rate limits are published on the pricing page and in our developer documentation. You must design your integrations to respect these limits, including 429 responses and documented back-off headers. We may throttle, cache-warm, or temporarily block callers whose traffic patterns threaten service stability for other users.
Content you submit
You are responsible for content you submit to the Services, including watchlist names, portfolio notes, and alert messages. Do not submit personal data of others without a lawful basis to do so. Do not submit confidential information you are not authorized to share.
Enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations and take any action we deem appropriate, including removing content, throttling usage, suspending or terminating accounts, and cooperating with law enforcement. We may act without prior notice where conduct poses a risk to users, the Services, or us.
Reporting
To report suspected abuse, security issues, or AUP violations, contact security@alphasmith.ai (for security) or legal@alphasmith.ai (for other conduct issues). Please include reproduction steps, URLs, and timestamps where possible.
Changes to this AUP
We may update this AUP as the Services evolve. Material changes will be posted on this page and, where appropriate, announced in-product.
