This Cookie Policy explains how AlphaSmith, Inc. [legal entity TBD] uses cookies and similar technologies on alphasmith.ai and on the hosted application (collectively, the “Services”). It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy. Effective date: April 17, 2026.

Your choices and how to change them

When you first visit AlphaSmith we show a consent banner with two equally prominent choices: Accept all or Reject all. A Preferences link on the banner lets you enable individual categories. You can revisit and change your choice at any time by clicking the Cookie Settings link in the footer of every page.

We store your choice in a first-party cookie named alphasmith.cookie-consent with a one-year expiry, Path=/, and SameSite=Lax. The cookie value records which categories you consented to (or the literal string reject). Until you make a choice, we only set strictly necessary cookies.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. “Session cookies” expire when you close your browser; “persistent cookies” remain until they expire or are deleted. We also use related technologies such as local storage, session storage, and pixels; for simplicity we refer to all of these as “cookies” here.

The four categories we offer

The consent banner and the Cookie Settings dialog both expose four categories. Only “Strictly necessary” and “Functional” are currently associated with any cookies we set; “Analytics” and “Advertising” exist in the settings so users can pre-declare their preferences for scripts we may add in the future. If and when we add any such scripts, this page will be updated to name them and to describe what they do.

Strictly necessary

Required for the Services to function. These cookies authenticate your session, maintain your preferences during a login flow, and protect against cross-site request forgery. You cannot opt out of strictly necessary cookies without breaking core functionality.

• Session and authentication tokens.
• The consent cookie itself (alphasmith.cookie-consent) so we remember your choice without re-prompting.
• CSRF protection tokens for the marketing site.

Functional

Remember choices you make (theme preference, selected portfolio, watchlist sort order, dashboard layout) so the experience feels consistent across visits. Not set unless you consent.

Analytics

Would help us understand how the Services are used so we can improve them. This category is available in Cookie Settings but is not currently associated with any scripts or cookies. We will update this Policy before enabling any analytics provider.

Advertising

Would enable personalized advertising and measurement. This category is available in Cookie Settings but is not currently associated with any scripts or cookies. We do not run ads on AlphaSmith today and will update this Policy before we ever do.

Third-party cookies

Some cookies are set by our service providers on our behalf when you interact with their features:

• Stripe sets cookies on checkout and billing-portal pages for fraud prevention and session state.
• Anti-abuse and CDN providers may set cookies to mitigate bots and distributed attacks.

How to control cookies

The simplest way to change your choice is the Cookie Settings link in the footer of every AlphaSmith page. That reopens the preferences dialog and lets you enable or disable individual categories. Your choice is saved back to the alphasmith.cookie-consent cookie.

Most browsers also let you view, delete, and block cookies from their settings menu. Disabling strictly necessary cookies will break the Services. Disabling functional cookies may reduce quality of experience but should not prevent you from using core features.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where applicable, treating it as an opt-out from sale or sharing for targeted advertising. Because we do not sell personal information or engage in cross-context behavioral advertising, GPC has limited additional effect on our Services.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the product and/or via email.
