Subscription & Billing Terms

These Subscription & Billing Terms (the “Billing Terms”) describe how paid subscriptions to the AlphaSmith platform work. They are incorporated into our Terms of Service and should be read alongside our Refund Policy. Effective date: April 17, 2026.

Plans and pricing

AlphaSmith offers Free, Pro, Premium, and API subscription tiers. Prices, features, and limits are listed on our pricing page. All prices are in U.S. dollars unless otherwise stated.

Billing cycle

Paid plans are billed monthly in advance on the date you first subscribed (the “billing anchor”). Annual billing, where offered, is charged once per year on the anchor date. Each billing period automatically renews for a successive period unless you cancel before the renewal date.

Payment authorization

By subscribing, you authorize AlphaSmith and our payment processor, Stripe, to charge your payment method the applicable fees on a recurring basis until you cancel. You are responsible for keeping payment information accurate and current.

Late or failed payments

If a charge fails, we will retry according to Stripe’s standard smart-retry schedule and may email you. If payment remains past due, we may suspend or downgrade paid features, restrict API access, and eventually terminate the subscription. Data is retained per our Privacy Policy.

Upgrades, downgrades, and proration

You may change tiers at any time from the billing page. Upgrades take effect immediately; we charge a prorated difference for the remainder of the billing period and adjust the next invoice accordingly. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access to the higher tier until then.

Cancellation and FTC Click-to-Cancel

You may cancel your subscription at any time via Settings → Billing, which opens the Stripe customer portal. Cancellation is effective at the end of your current paid period; you retain access until that date. No refund is issued for cancellations partway through a billing period. We do not charge cancellation fees.

Our cancellation process is designed to be as easy as signup in compliance with the FTC’s “Click to Cancel” requirements (16 CFR Part 425) and applicable state automatic-renewal laws. You do not need to speak to a person, submit a written request, or navigate a retention flow to cancel. The same online channel you used to sign up is the channel you can use to cancel.

Auto-renewal disclosures (California and other states). For California residents, this section and the clear-and- conspicuous disclosures presented at checkout together provide the disclosures required by Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code §§ 17600-17606 (the California Automatic Renewal Law), including affirmative consent to auto-renewal, a post-purchase acknowledgment with cancellation instructions, and an online cancellation mechanism that mirrors the online signup. For New York residents, this section and the pre-renewal reminders described below provide the disclosures required by New York General Business Law § 527-a. Comparable disclosures apply for residents of Florida (Fla. Stat. § 501.165), Illinois (815 ILCS 601), Oregon (ORS 646A.293), Virginia (Va. Code § 59.1-207.45), Vermont (9 V.S.A. § 2454a), and the District of Columbia (D.C. Code § 28-3904(ff)).

Pre-renewal reminders. For annual subscriptions, we send an email reminder between 30 and 7 days before each auto-renewal, identifying the plan, the renewal date, the amount that will be charged, and a link to cancel. For monthly subscriptions, we send an email acknowledgment within one business day of each successful charge, identifying the amount charged and a link to cancel.

Disputed cancellations. If you believe your cancellation was improperly processed, or you were charged after cancelling, email billing@alphasmith.ai and we will investigate within three business days and, where the error is confirmed, return the erroneous amount to the original payment method.

Refunds

Refund eligibility is governed by our Refund Policy.

Price changes

We may change subscription prices from time to time. We will provide at least 30 days’ advance notice by email to the address on file before any price increase takes effect on your subscription. You may cancel before the new price applies.

Taxes

Fees are exclusive of taxes, duties, and similar governmental charges unless expressly stated. Where we are required to collect taxes (including U.S. state sales tax, VAT, or GST), they will be shown at checkout and on your invoice. You are responsible for any taxes arising from your use of the Services that are not collected by us.

Promotional offers

Any promotion, credit, or discount applies under its specified terms. Unless stated otherwise, promotions are non-transferable, have no cash value, and cannot be combined with other offers. We reserve the right to end or modify promotions at our discretion.
